    This is a Stainless Steel strap that will not rust in 20 years. I have checked the material with an earth magnet (very strong magnet) it does not stick (attach) it's self to the strap, which indicates it is Stainless Steel. It is very good quality, wide and strong. I am very glad I bought this strap in addition to the Chimney cap I brought elsewhere which came with a strap which would have lasted five minutes.
