it looks like silicone but the silicone is too dense. its not soft and spongy like a silicone o ring. i was expecting it to be a soft silicone rubber. the texture is more like a soft plastic. i ended up using a neoprene rubber seal instead. so much for not getting what i was expecting. it really can't even be used as a seal. it won't compress enough. been better if i could have put my fingers on it before i bought it.
