    If your hood cable is not retracting fully when pulled or getting hard to pull, replace it right away. Because if it breaks your in big trouble. Have not heard of a way to get at the locking mechanism without having 4 foot skinny arms to reach it from under the car. Mine had half the wire strands frayed. This replacement kit had all the parts and fit perfectly. Worth the money. Thank you!
