This is because with an adaptor fitting a bayonet connector & adapting to a screw fitting, when fitting there is a 50% chance that the positive AC will be connected to the exposed outer metal of the screw fitting and so LIVE & DANGEROUS

Hi Neil, hope you are well. I have tried my very best to be as honest, truthful and descriptive with the product notification that our entire range are not compatible with any light fittings or table/floor lamps that are entirely made out of either metal or brass especially the vintage style lamps as they tend to be NOT EARTHED from factory. The adaptors cannot be earthed as this will increase size of dimension which affects overall aesthetics. modern brass lamps tend to be earthed from factory.
