Leather and boards scuffed, with losses to the spine, as shown. Boards still in place, inner hinges cracked, appears to lack a front endpaper. 1012pp. Block sound, though with some foxing to the early and latter pages, the odd mark here and there, a little faint damping to the title and frontis, but generally in good order for the age of the book. Weighty at approx 1.5kg. Frontispiece engraving of Shakespeare from a painting by Conelius Jansen. Includes notes by Steevens, Malone and Johnson; the Preface by Dr Johnson, and a glossary of Obsolete words. Good/None.”
