I currently have three Takeda knives which i’ve had for years and love. I’ve had no issues with chipping or broken tips. I always keep them razor sharp and use soft wood cutting boards. I’ve used this Kurouchi Shosui for a week and already have multiple chips in the edge and the tip also chipped off as well. I treat it no differently than any other blade. This one is much less durable and very brittle. For the price i would expect it the same as my older immaculate blades by Takeda.

Superlative experience in ALL aspects. By special request, vendor created custom order for a cutting board to be handmade in Japan from Aomori Hiba wood by specialty workshop. Unique scent of this exotic wood can only be fully appreciated in person. Board was cut to exact size specification, planed to silky smooth surface without defects, & safely shipped via DHL.
