After putting new batteries in it twice, still had problems getting it to turn "ON". Took apart and cleaned contacts, re-inserted batteries and it worked. Kind of disappointed that it is really not very bright and the bulbs appear to have a lot of wear (blackness on the inside), but as I said, it still works good enough to see. Also, appears to have prior users name etched into side of lantern.
