There are so few good options for miao dao on the market for training - if you want one that’s poly urethane then this is the sword for you. The balance is good but keep in mind this is not a wooden sword so there’s more give in the blade which some people want while others might not. Swinging the sword too heavily (which already isn’t what a trained practitioner should do) will cause the blade to bend. But durability-wise this sword will survive more punishment than a wooden blade.
