Whether in transit to the seller from the supplier or damaged in transit from the seller to the buyer. In my case I believe this part was damaged prior to the seller receiving it. The nature of the damage would have been hard to notice as it was covered by protective clingfilm. Regardless, one of the two pieces was indeed broken, and in no way repairable. Seller couldn't help. Ordered new part from different vendor.
