You are correct that my spindle is slightly under 17mm. The description indicates that these spindles fit perfectly into a bearing that has a 17mm ID. Each and every 1 of my spindles has been test fitted into a precision bearing for fitment. And the spindle you purchased fit perfectly. I would check your bearings for excessive wear and purchase new bearings if need be. Thanks for your purchase.
