Identical twins Phylicia and Phoebe share a love for the same man. Reverend Gary Morgan, pastor of Freedom Inspiration, only has eyes for one twin, his high school sweetheart, Phylicia. While Phylicia accepts the daughter into her home out of duty, her struggle to deal with the past builds a wall that blocks Gary from her heart. Phoebe, however, is filled with glee as she settles into life in her hometown. She happily observes as her sister's holy matrimony crumbles into a hurtful melodrama.
