Until I saw the unit, I thought the word "suction" meant that the solenoid slug merely retracted into the electromagnet when activated. I now think it also carries the implication that when inactive, if the slug is pointed downward, it will fall out of the solenoid because of gravity. Certainly a "push-pull" solenoid will do what I want, but I don't know if there are "suction" types where the slug doesn't fall out.
I learn something new every day!
