The mechanical pencil still works properly. The ink in the pen is dried out - I do not have ink to test it, but it will most likely need to be cleaned up before it can be used. The brass plaque on the top of the base is a bit crooked. There is some tarnish to the metal hardware, primarily to the exterior of the barrels that hold the pen and pencil - see photo 5 for details. The pen has a 14K gold nib that is marked "Sheaffer Feather Touch Made in USA 5 14K". The body of the pen is marked "WA Sheaffer Pen Co Fort Madison Ohio USA Made in USA". The black base is heavy, made of stone or a similar material. It is 10" by 5" and 3/4" thick.”
