The description of the clock says it has an in-built battery (so does the manual it came with), but I found once I received it, that it does not. As soon as it loses power, it loses the current time and it has to be reset. I contacted the seller and he confirmed that it does not have an internal battery, so I'm very disappointed in it. Even the manual it comes with mentions it has an internal battery. Aside from that the quality of the clock is good and the sound is surprisingly good.
