The alternator has been fitted and is working very well (tested on a 600Km drive). I was able to obtain a diagram from a very good friend of mine which gave the hints on how to loosen the serpentine belt. I will include a copy of this diagram to help others who have also not replaced an alternator before. I hope this OK.
