My guess is that it’s likely was kept in someone’s basement or garage for a long time. Almost 2 weeks in, after leaving it outside every other day and spraying inside with cleaning solutions, I still wasn’t able to get it completely. It’s a beautiful, discontinued item, but due to the horrible smell, I still wasn’t able to use it as a purse mirror - I’m afraid to ruin my bags.
