Weak magnet. Not really the seller's fault, as I assume the seller is not the manufacturer. The magnet of the end of this device is so weak that it cannot lift the admittedly larger sized magnetic stirrers that I employ. So, if you use such larger stir bars, and you very likely may if you are shopping for a stir bar retriever rod of this length, then you probably want to keep looking.
