I needed these to tidy up awkward decorating round a couple of old plug sockets. I thought that they just fitted around them but being very old sockets they didn't fit over them so I needed to trim around the inner edges of the plates, a bit fiddly, used a very sharp Stanley knife and took my time and eventually, a snug fit fit was achieved. Look great though so worth the effort.
