It is hallmarked for London 1823 with the makers marks being that of Richard Poulden. It has been superbly designed to what is termed Fiddle Thread pattern and has been engraved with a double crest one being unknow and the other being used by the Birdwood family - doubled crested items were usually given as wedding gifts. It is in super condition having no dings splits distortions or repairs. It measures approx. 12 inches (30.5cm) long by 2.25 inches (5.6cm) wide and weighs 148 grams. A very high quality piece.”
