This is the second of two volumes for students preparing for the Institute of Legal Executives Part 1 examination. The law papers for Part 1 are taken over two years and this volume covers the subject for the second year - contract and consumer law, family law, employment law, wills, probate and consumer law and law of succession. The authors emphasise how the law works in its practical context, so that students should be able to relate their studies to their everyday work. Frequent reference is made to appropriate cases and the authors explain their significance to the subject. The book also contains statutory materials and examples of law reports. The authors use diagrams to illustrate complex points and include sample questions in the style of the Institute's examinations to indicate the type of problems that students may have to face. Guidance is given as to how these questions should be tackled in an exam situation so that obvious mistakes may be avoided. This updated edition includes the consolidating changes made by the Employment Rights Act 1996, recent changes made to UK Safety Regulations, the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1994, the Child Support Act 1995, new divorce law in te Family Law Act 1996, the Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 and the Sale of Goods (Amendment) Act 1995.
