Hello,
The metallic taste and smell in a new copper water bottle could be due to residues from the manufacturing process. Try rinsing it thoroughly with a mixture of water and baking soda or vinegar, then washing it with mild soap. This should help remove any lingering odors or tastes. If necessary, you may want to soak the bottle overnight with water and the same amount of baking soda.
