Image area has no tears, punctures, or abrasions. Margin area slight wrinking and mat paper residue from previous mat covering. A 1/2" tear in the upper margin edge, well away from the imge. The paper residue seems to come off fairly easily with razoring but I do not recommend this unless you are experienced as a conservator. A new mat is the best solution. The drawing appears to be black ink, with some water color addition here and there. The image area has toning from exposure to light and following the edges you can see the color change of some of the color lines. Again, use a mat.”
