The hard drive inside the device was on its last leg though so, while i was able to record, getting data off the device would fail on any clip over 2 minutes long. I ended up having to upgrade the internals to run on a flash card. Still, very glad to have the thing - I don't expect every seller to check for bad disk sectors on something like this, but anyone buying one of these should be aware that the tech is old!
