This is a rather unusual and very versatile device - I originally boughy it to use as a plug-in Ethernet wi-fi interface for a laptop & operating system combination that doesn't support normal built-in wi-fi interfaces; the device then appears to the system to be an Ethernet network interface and works well. But it also has other uses including as a wi-fi repeater/extender and as an Ethernet bridge - really useful for network geeks like me!
