The 10.3 megapixel CCD of this Sony DSC-R1 can capture enough detail to produce 18 x 24 inch prints that are stunning. It has a 5X optical zoom and 2 inch vari-angle LCD display. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-R1 camera has three color modes and RAW capture. It can record images onto Memory Stick PRO and Compact Flash Type I/II media and is powered by one NP-FM50 InfoLithium battery. With Sony's Complimentary Metal Oxide Semiconductor, or CMOS, you even have the ability to live preview. This DSC-R1 camera's sensor and lens make it stand out. It’s an excellent all in one digital camera that uses an APS-C size sensor. It also provides full time live preview to the monitor or electronic viewfinder. Because of this function, there is no need for a prism or mirror box. This allows it to be more compact and lets it be placed closer to the lens. It provides a maximum aperture of F/2.8 to F/4.8.
