Our wood stove pipe runs straight up and out with no bends to help reclaim heat. We bought 2 sets of these, etched the metal bands with water, vinegar and a wet sanding sponge then painted them with high temp black spray paint. Installed them offset and staggered . Living room seems to heat faster now. Also added a small metal fan for more air flow. Even without the fan these are a good, stand alone way to get some more heat out of the stack.

I've now purchased two sets to help increase the effective heat output of a wood stove in a yurt. They work fine, although I will adda fan to further improve their function. I to fabricate a dozen clips to allow the strips to fit my stove pipe. It appears that these find are sized for single walk stovepipe but I used double wall pipe which is slightly larger. Not a huge deal, but it would be helpful to note this point in the product listing, or make available fins 3" longer to fit 6" DW pipe
