The tonearm was just as described (excellent) the closeup photos were an exaggeration of any visual defects, item was safely packed, and shipping from Japan to midwest US was mind-bogglingly quick (a few days). Precision operation of the counterweight is funky (due to age I suppose), but no big deal - the tonearm is installed and it operates, looks, and sounds terrific. Totally satisfied with this purchase.
