Deer Hunt Challenge is a hunting simulation where players track, stalk and shoot trophy bucks in more than 30 different hunting scenarios. Using a rifle, shotgun or bow, players must bring down the big ones to win points and increase their ranking as a hunter. Players start as Green Horns and work up to the rank of Master Hunter.<br><br>Hunters use the tools of the trade to bag their prey. Players can use tree stands, blinds, calls, scents and rattles to get close enough to the deer for a kill shot. Players earn a perfect score for finding the largest buck in a level without using the deer finder cheat (X key) and dropping it with a kill shot to the head or heart.<br><br>Deer Hunt Challenge features a Challenge Mode and a Hunting Trip Mode. In the Challenge Mode, hunters advance from level to level, learning the tricks of the trade and improving their scores and rankings. During a Hunting Trip, players go after deer in a variety of ways in dozens of different hunting locales. <br><br>Deer Hunt Challenge features three-dimensional graphics and two points of view: "gun" and "over the shoulder." Artists have filled the backgrounds in Deer Hunt Challenge with trees, rabbits, bushes, lakes, ponds and mountains among other items. <br><br>The deer in Deer Hunt Challenge can hear hunters approaching and will flee if they hear, smell or see something they do not recognize. Hunters can run, walk or stand still when pursuing a deer. Gunshots scare the deer so the first shot is important. <br><br>Deer Hunt Challenge is for one player only. Players can save games for play during later sessions.
