Space Spartans was introduced as one of three first games for the intellivision's intellivoice, a hardware speech add-on. In fact, Space Spartans was the first game developed for the intellivoice.<br><br>Remarkably large for it's time, Space Spartans was 8K in size (standard intellvision cartridges were given 4K), and set a prescedent for larger cartridge size for future intellivoice games (12 to 16K).<br><br>Space Spartans put you in the role of a space commander, fighting off enemy alien units. The 8K space allocated for Space Spartans meant the voices for the game were low quality, and unfortunately all dialogue was cut to the bare minimum.
