Gerade fur die Erschliessung neuer Anwendungen darf der Entwurf von elektronischen Moduln und Systemen nicht nur den auf dem Gebiet der Elektronik spezialisierten Ingenieuren vorbehalten bleiben. Ingenieure jeder Disziplin mussen durch entsprechende Entwurfssysteme in die Lage versetzt werden, elektronische Komponenten fur ihren Anwendungsbereich entwickeln zu konnen. Diese Entwurfssysteme mussen den Anwender durch problemorientierte Darstellungsmittel, leistungsfahige Design- und Verifikationswerkzeuge und durch Werkzeuge zur Generierung von Schnittstellen zum Produktionsprozess und zum Pruffeld unterstutzen. Ziel dieses Buches ist es, einerseits Prinzipien, Methoden und Werkzeuge, die einem CAD-System fur elektronische Moduln und Systeme zugrundeliegen, aufzuzeigen, andererseits aber auch Entwurfsverfahren zu diskutieren.
