The silver lid hinge still works perfectly and the lid opens and closes securely and the original interior gilding is still in excellent condition and the glass mirror plate has no cracks or hairlines and is still pretty clear, (just very minor foxing). Most importantly the beautiful real shagreen covering is all intact with no damage or losses, just slight age discolouring you would expect to find on a piece almost 100 years old. A fine rare Art Deco silver box and with no added personal engravings.”
