I haven't tested whether these really are waterproof but the optical quality is good for compact binoculars of 12x magnification. In my experience binoculars sold on Ebay have misleading specifications i.e. the magnification is always less than advertised and the objective lens diameter is exaggerated. These genuinely are 12x26 so I'm happy.
