I actually lose money on postage. I pay £3.69 to Post Office, eBay will take another £0.47 as they take 12.8% of the cost of item including postage and £0.47 is 12.8% of the postage cost. So you can see, I'm already down before i buy tape, bubble-wrap, or labels!
