This was not the original OEM disk, so while I’m sure the software was fine, I was too paranoid to load it since it was clearly not an original disc and copied.

Exactly! As described clearly under 'what you get section' & the 2nd image shows the disc!. OEM 'original' DOES NOT EXIST, ashampoo products are digital only, you can download the file from their site!. we are their publishers and send on a backup disc as mentioned on the ad with their authorization! and you did not check all that!. probably you are still stuck in the 80s-90s, many don't even have a disc drive but a USB only! READ the AD and if you don't like it the CONTACT us or DO NOT BUY!
