Turns out the very sound of falling in love is just as abstract, subjective and loopy as the concept itself. Yoko Ono and John Lennon are two of history's greatest lovers, and Two Virgins is the document of the pair falling in love in real time. The album is a curious and amazing suite recorded over one weekend in Spring 1968 at Lennon's Kenwood home: Distant conversations; comedic role playing and footsteps; laughter, birdcalls and plunking piano lines; silly songs and space; tape delay stretching shrieks, bass rumbles and moans to the moon and back again. The now-iconic cover (featuring Ono and Lennon standing nude together) notwithstanding, nothing about Two Virgins is safe. It would be a risky move today for artists in the larger, pop culture conversation just as it was a risky move in 1969. But this is an uncomfortably private, two-person dialogue about -and celebration of - experimentation, inspiration and play. And these two souls bravely let us look through the keyhole.

Item was advertised. Price average for the model. Packaging was a little let down as flat rate envelope used but box inside was completely crushed. Fortunately the plastic sprues were narrow so no major breaks. Shipping while a plus for being included was weirdly long. Ordered the same kit from the same seller 16 days later, arrived within two weeks. This one, ordered before the second kit arrived 6.5 weeks later. Not sure how that happened.

Price was average, shipping included and fairly quick for crossing a few oceans. Only drawback was flat bubble packing completely crushed the model box. Luckily, as far as I can tell the plastic sprue parts are narrow and didn't seem to have major damage. They just need to be a little safer on packing. Otherwise good.

I unfortunately have not watched it yet, because I wasn't paying attention that the item was region locked to the UK--my fault, not the seller. My bluray player is a US version. I have a region-free PS3 hidden away in a closet and would have to break it out to watch this movie. I don't think it ever got a US release on bluray so I'm just glad to have a copy. But the item itself was delivered on time and in great condition, so good on this seller!
