Synopsis
Howard Bond traveled ten countries in search of subjects. Between 1974 and 2005, he released twenty-two portfolios of about ten photographs each, and he created some thirty sets of each portfolio. These portfolios reach across time, pulling images from different journeys together around unifying themes. His works are rich with precise detail. The world we see through his lens is a peaceful one, changed only by light and time. In Luminous Construction , the complement to the Syracuse University Library exhibit of the same name, readers can experience Bond (TM)s photographs in a context intended to foreground his achievement as a formalist, a craftsman, and an artist. Since committing himself fully to photography in 1979, Bond has been regarded as a master of large-format film photography. His signature black-and-white photography has been featured in more than sixty single-artist and forty group shows all over the world. He is the author of two books, Light Motifs and White Motif: The Cyclades Islands of Greece , and of more than a hundred articles for Photo Techniques magazine. In addition to Ansel Adams, Bond studied fine art photography with twentieth-century masters Imogen Cunningham and Brett Weston. The Michigan-based artist has taught workshops on photographic techniques for more than three decades., Howard Bond traveled ten countries in search of subjects. Even though I got an email that the item had been shipped, I got a second email that they goofed with their inventory (which showed 3 in stock) and did not have the book. They issued a refund promptly.

My book came damaged with the corners bent and pages inside the book folded over and scratches and small dirt smears on the side. Kinda bummed.
