Just talked with my jeweler/watchmaker re earlier Bulova quartz Accutrons. Some used a different stepping motor that may be the cause of the second hand failing to advance properly. Usually a low battery causes the second hand to 'twitch' on a single second rather that staying on one second ocaisionally resulting in the time loss. I'd like to take it to him to see if it can be made to work. I have time, batteries and a new band coming so I am not quite ready to give up.
