I was also surprised by the quality being this good. The shank & cutting flute diameters are comparable with the best drill I possess. Everything feel nice & sharp with very good edges. Of course, you can see that these are roll-forged when you look on the top. But the quality is where it matters. Obviously I cannot tell how hard the metal is, but it certainly looks all right.
