I am pleased to own this historic image. My ancestor, James Jordan, b. 1732, was a lightkeeper on Sable Island. He rerturned to Deer Isle, Maine where he died in 1818. Although this is not a photo of the family, It is an important view helping me to understand the remote and isolated location and difficult conditions that a lighthouse keeper endured during the 18th century.
