Nonetheless I have been Steinbeck fan from, early on when I read Of Mice and Men, a story that blew me away. My youth wasn't prepared for a ending such as that. A coming of age book...learned the world doesn't always have a happy ending. Book is in better condition than described and eventaully I would buy the BCE just because I am a book addict.
