Jake Tyler (Sean Faris), a tough kid with a big heart, is about to learn that in life everyone has their fight. He arrives at a new school and takes a liking to the class stunner, Baja (Amber Heard). But she is the girlfriend of resident bully, Ryan (Cam Gigandet), who targets Jake and beats him to a pulp. Humiliated, Jake vows to get even and begins training with coach Jake Roqua (two time Academy Award nominee* Djimon Hounsou) in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), a highly skilled discipline that leaves all other fighting forms for dead. Focussed on the inevitable re-match with Ryan, Jake knows there is more at stake than mere victory. To win will not only settle a score - it will define who he is.
