Das gewaltige Naturphanomen versetzte am 26. Dezember 2004 eine ganze Bevoelkerung in Angst und Schrecken, als es die Kustenregionen am Indischen Ozean erreichte und eine Katastrophe mit schwerwiegenden Folgen verursachte. Dieses Ereignis bewegte nicht nur den asiatischen Raum; die ganze Welt berichtete von dem durch Seebeben ausgeloesten Tsunami. In der vorliegenden Hausarbeit moechte ich mich zunachst mit den allgemeinen geophysikalischen Ursachen, den Auswirkungen und den gefahrdeten Gebieten auseinandersetzen. Ich stelle die geophysikalischen Prozesse bei einem Erdbeben hierbei in den Fokus meiner Hausarbeit, um die sich ausbreitenden Wellenbewegungen eines Tsunamis zu verstehen. Ebenfalls moechte ich mich naher mit dem interessanten Themenbereich auseinandersetzen, welche geographischen Gebiete besonders von einer Tsunamikatastrophe gefahrdet sind. Dass die Naturgewalten uber solch eine Macht und Gewalt verfugen, ist einerseits erschreckend, andererseits jedoch weckt es Interesse, respektvolle Ehrfurcht und Faszination - sofern dies in einer Naturkatastrophe zutreffen kann - fur die Naturgewalten dieser Erde. ...
