Two cables had electrical tape around them, suggesting prior damage. One of those cables was the wrong type (power cable) and we had to replace it. The other cable (audio cable) was defective, which initially made us suspect a port problem, but replacing the cable resolved the issue. The item itself is working well so far, and we hope it continues to do so. Thanks!
