Il 19 marzo del 1994 veniva ucciso un giovane sacerdote di soli trentasei anni. Era Don Giuseppe Diana (Peppe per gli amici), parroco di Casal di Principe, in provincia di Caserta. Mandanti ed esecutori del delitto appartenevano alla camorra. Don Diana fu ucciso perché si era opposto ai tanti soprusi che funestavano il territorio. La sua fu una lotta aperta, mobilitò autorità religiose e civili di fronte ai tanti delitti che si verificavano nella zona. Coglieva ogni occasione per educare alla legalità, alla giustizia. Ma quando la camorra, nonostante le sue dimostrazioni di forza, si accorse che le cose stavano cambiando e la gente si sollevava contro i loro abusi, decretò la morte del parroco scomodo. Il testo, pur essendo una biografia del giovane sacerdote, parla per lo più della sua azione pastorale che si oppone con forza al potere della camorra, e cerca di liberare la gente dalla paura di questo potere.
