This item was listed as "new, unused condition." When purchasing these new from a trusted retailer, there is no need to "service" the life jacket. There was no mention in the ad that this life jacket needed to be serviced and that it needed a re-arming kit, which costs roughly $40. As new sailors, we went to sea trusting this and barely avoided tragedy.
