This antique porcelain trinket box was to be a gift for a collector friend. Before I even opened the box I could hear it was broken inside. The piece was poorly wrapped in a single layer of thin bubble wrap and placed in a large box with no other packing material. It had to have rattled and rolled around a lot during shipment. The box was not even marked “fragile.” I decided to have the piece repaired and will keep it, as it’s is a lovely (broken) box….but now not worthy of gifting.
