Sturdy. Not flimsy. My only issue is that I have had to go through each one and cut or file off the top (where they were attached to the discarded part of the mold.) It's sharp and pointy. They would catch the yarn and hurt my grandchildren if I hadn't removed the plastic spikes. My grandchildren are small and they like to count the markers in my work on the needles, and, it's a good way for them to learn their colors.
