All diese Bilder, Meldungen und Videos werden fur immer in den Koepfen der gegenwartigen Gesellschaft verankert bleiben. Nahezu jeder kann noch heute sagen, wann und wo er von den Anschlagen in New York und Washington 2001 erfuhr, was er an diesem Tag getan hat, was er in diesem Moment gedacht hat. Diese Nachhaltigkeit terroristischer Ereignisse ist vor allem den Massenmedien mit ihren Live-UEbertragungen, Breaking-News und ihrer Globalitat zuzuschreiben. Wahrend es fur die Terroristen schon ausreicht, uberhaupt in den Medien aufzutauchen - ganz gleich ob negativ oder positiv, stehen die Journalisten zwischen Sensationslust und Chronistenpflicht . Einerseits mussen sie ihre Informationspflicht erfullen und wollen moeglichst hohe Einnahmen erzielen, andererseits wollen sie sich nicht zum Sprachrohr fur die Terroristen machen. Es stellt sich die Frage, ob eine Beziehung zwischen Terroristen und Journalisten besteht, in der beide Seiten profitieren. Der Gedanke, die Medien fur terroristische Ziele zu missbrauchen ist keinesfalls neu, doch offensichtlich hat sich die Medienlandschaft gewandelt.
