The DVD side of the player is perfectly fine, nothing to complain about that. It's the VCR part that is problematic and will require that I invest some additional money for maintenance and maybe even purchasing a second VCR player and just keep this one as a back-up for emergencies. For all intent and purposes, this is a pre-owned item masquerading as a new item. And that "New Sealed VHS" tape that was supposed to be included wasn't even there although I didn't really needed anyway.
