The cosmetics on the black paint/metal/plastics/rubber is very excellent. Just some very minor dust in the tight corners, but no paint defects, dents, scrapes, ect. The metallic orange paint on the tube is in excellent, but not very excellent, condition with (3) minor contact marks; (2) just in front of the StarBright XLT decal and (1) near the underside by the dovetail plate. As the photos show, they are not attention-grabbing.The optics are in pristine, very excellent with minimal dust on the corrector plate, primary, and secondary mirror. NO cleaning whatsoever is needed ANYTIME soon. No fungus, pits, fogging, or scratches that I can try to find. No chips. The built-in diagonal prism is in very excellent condition as well with very minor dust, but nothing else. Again, no need to clean.The flip mirror system is aligned and works perfectly.The focuser is buttery-smooth in performance.As of BEFORE shipping, the scope has very good collimation.”
